How To Prepare

Thank you for allowing California Tile Sealers the opportunity to provide our professional cleaning service for you. Good preparation on your part helps everything go smoothly during the job and allows us to focus our efforts on giving you the best cleaning experience possible. We also want to ensure that you and your family are completely safe while we are working in your home. Here are some suggestions for you to prepare that will help improve the quality and efficiency of your job.

  • Please remove all furniture and breakables from any areas that are going to be cleaned.
  • If any furniture is going to remain in the work area, please remove all items from furniture which will have to be temporarily moved, cleaned under, and placed back.
  • If carpeted areas in the center of the room are used for storage of moved furniture, please leave at least 4 -5 feet of elbow room in order to get equipment through.
  • Furniture that is “not practical to remove” can stay in place and we will carefully protect and clean around it.
  • Please pin up any full-length draperies so that they will be at least 12 inches off the floor.
  • In the case where your floors are being completely stripped, be sure that your baseboards are clean and free from grease and dust. The reasoning here is when taping the baseboards to protect them from chemicals, if they are dirty or greasy, the tape will not stick properly, increasing the possibility of damage.
  • If computer equipment or electronics are mot moved out of the area, please gather and tie up any loose wires and cables that may be on the floor.
  • If so equipped, please remove the bottom drawer on the stove if you would like that area cleaned.
  • During the pre-inspection walk-through with your technicians, please call attention to any spots or stains which may require special techniques. Also please point out the location of the breaker panel and any faulty switches or outlets.
  • Elderly clients are requested not to walk around during the cleaning operation. This is to prevent tripping over the vacuum and solution line hoses or slipping on wet floors.
  • Please clear vehicles from the driveway. We will need the space closest to the front door.
  • Once the work has been started please put your pets in a safe, quiet place where our cleaning won’t disturb them. While working in your home the door will be cracked open a few inches to allow for our hoses to come in. You are responsible for your pet’s whereabouts during the cleaning.
  • Even a slight change in air drafts can sometimes affect the health of a bird. You know your bird’s sensitivities best, but we ask that you take the bird to a separate room for 24 hours where we will not be cleaning cover the bird cage with a sheet. If they can stay with a neighbor for a couple days, that would be best.
  • For safety sake, be sure to keep an extra close eye on your curious little ones.
  • As general practice, we open and clean under every door adjoining to areas we are cleaning. If there are any doors you do not want opened or private areas of the home you do not want us to enter, please bring this to our attention.
  • If for some reason you must reschedule your appointment please give us as much notice as possible. If you give us more than a 48 hour notice you can avoid a cancellation charge.
  • Please bring to our attention any preexisting conditions or other items that may require special handling or care. Properly installed tile and grout in good condition will not be damaged during the cleaning or stripping procedures. We cannot be responsible for cracked, loose or damaged grout that is removed during our normal cleaning process. Damaged grout can repaired and a nominal additional charge.
  • We will need access to a water source, 2 separate electrical circuits, and either a utility sink or toilet. Please inform us of any faucet that is broken or leaks that we should not hook up to.
  • Help dry your floors faster. After cleaning, please be sure to maintain the temperature at 78 degrees or above. You may need to move fans as necessary after we leave, and allow the fans to run throughout the night. If these drying procedure are not adhered to, additional time may be required to thoroughly dry your floor, resulting in an additional charge.
  • We use high power fans to help dry your floors. We use care when setting up our fans but from time to time the high airflow has caused items that are not secured to the wall to fall off such as a light art frame. Please bring to our attention any items you may have a concern with or simply remove them from the work area.
  • Payment is required immediately upon completion. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa and Master Card. (credit card payments will incur a 3.25% processing fee) Keep in mind that your preferred method of payment should be located in a room that will be accessible even if your floors are wet. If you must leave before we are completed, arrangements must be made to settle up before you leave.
  • On exterior jobs, be sure to trim back at least 3” any grass or greenery that may neighbor or hang over any work areas.
  • If potted plants are to be removed from the work area, please do so before out arrival. If they are left in place and gone around, be sure any drip lines are clear of work areas to avoid damage.
  • Please be sure to turn off your automatic sprinklers the night before we arrive and keep them off for at least 24 hours after the job is completed. If watering is absolutely necessary, please water by hand and avoid getting work areas wet.

Thank you for your Trust & Business! We look forward to serving you! If you have ANY questions please feel free to call or email us.
